Fine whiskies from the garden estate
Fercullen Irish whiskies are award-winning whiskies distilled and aged on the glorious Powerscourt Estate in County Wicklow, known as the garden county of Ireland. National Geographic has recognised Powercourt Estate’s incredible 47 acres of gardens as 1 of the top 3 gardens in the world - a fabulous place to produce whiskey.
The Fercullen brand is inspired by the local countryside, especially the local Fercullen Falls, which are the largest and highest waterfalls in Ireland, and the local history. The territory on which the Powerscourt Estate now lies was know as Fercullen - a strategically important territory, located about 30 minutes drive outside of Dublin.
The distillery uses state-of-the art equipment to produce single malt and pot sill whiskies in 3 custom copper pot stills, which produce a smooth and fruity spirit. Paul Corbett is the Powerscourt Master Distiller, and he has been widely-recognised for his art with an Irish Icon of whiskey award, and various world distilling awards. He follows on from his famous predecessor, Noel Sweeney, an IWSC judge who has been elected into the Whiskey Hall of Fame.
Between these great distillers, Fercullen has become established as one of the most innovative, and professional whiskey distilleries in Ireland, with a visitor centre that is second to none. Even if you can’t make it to Powerscourt Estate for a visit, the whiskeys are a wonderful representative of the distillery with a range that continues to develop and impress more year on year.
