Barroco Wines – The Sublime Art of Enjoyment

Barroco Wines are truly sublime creations. The brilliant, powerful creations of Roberto Romano, one of Argentina´s most recognisable wine sommeliers. After carefully selecting the best grapes from the finest vineyards around Argentina, Roberto takes inspiration from gastronomy, nature, fashion, art, and music to develop unique, incredible wines, all designed with a story, and emotion to accompany the most enjoyable moments of life.

Each wine focuses on the consumer experience, tells a story and creates an emotional impact. In marketing materials, the wines are depicted as contemporary expressions of Baroque culture, an evocative period when contrast, exuberant detail, colour, grandeur and surprise were used to invoke a sense of awe.

Barroco’s incredible wine series begins with Aire - Blanc blend is a mix of Viognier, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, aged for 10 months in French oak barrels with the lees - a supple, refreshing and intriguing wine. Red Aire blend is Malbec, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, oaked for 14 months - a swirling, uplifting gale of a wine. Baroque (bottom right) is a blissful, hedonistic Rose (a fine blend of Malbec, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon) with a touch of French oak.

The next chapter of the story is an elegant, aromatic Viognier, which is characterized as AGUA, BIRTH, a perfect, fresh, uplifting wine to enjoy before a meal, to drink with friends, on a summer day. Viognier Birth is clear, and clean, mellifluous and transcendental.

Fire is passion - a lustful, carnal Malbec Reserva oaked 16 months with the lees. It has great complexity, deep dark fruit, and the perfect amount of spice to accompany red meats.

Salva tu Alma (Save your Soul) is a powerful and precise organic red blend Reserva, aged for 16 months on the lees, that wows the palate. These luxury wines will be perfect for elegant wine lists in fine dining restaurants.

Pinot Noir is light and delicate luxury, while Cabernet Franc is deep and sensual luxury. Pinot Noir is lightly oaked for 3 months to preserve the natural fruit flavour of this fine grape. Cabernet Franc is oaked for 16 months to maximise its robust flavour.

Infinity are both Gran Reserva Malbecs showcasing excellent parcels from 2 incredible vineyards in the Mendoza region. Deep, intense, complex and very, very long and persistent finishes - every care taken to develop a full-bodied wines, suitable for cellar aging. Let them open well before consuming for fullest pleasure.

Aether are sparkling wines, ephemeral and elegant. All are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blends, made with the Champenoise method - 12, 24 and 36 months on the lees respectively. These wines open with an incredible ethereal aroma, immediately transcending the norm, leading into a sophisticated, complex, persistent and expressive wine, to share in life´s finest moments.

Roberto also produces Coquetel - sublime artisanal gins. Based on natural botanicals, Roberto has created three styles of gin as a tribute to two events that changed the course of cocktails in the world: La Belle Epoque (Paris 1870 - 1917) and the famous “Prohibition” (United States 1919 - 1933).

Fleur d'âme is a London Dry Gin. Égoïste a Rose gin. Déjà Vu a London Dry.

Trade Winds says: Barroco has a great story to tell behind each production, and make really wonderful, innovative wines that will grace the portfolio of any premium wine importer. Aether is transcendent.
