Corbeau Wines – The Dark Side of Wine

Corbeau Wines is one of the most inventive and innovative wineries operating in the New World. Currently managed by the third generation of the Rodriguez family, the winery has 4 different vineyards with a total of 350 hectares of vines in the province of Mendoza, Argentina.

Corbeau´s vineyards provide optimal growing conditions for a wide variety of grapes, including Argentinean staples Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Torrontés, popular international varietals Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc and more unusual grapes such as Bonarda, Chenin, Sangiovese, Tempranillo and Ancellotta. They have the world´s largest Ancellotta vineyard and put these elegant grapes to great use in their excellent blends.

At Corbeau Wines, family tradition and wonderful vines meet first-class winemaking practices. Standards are high but what is really exciting is a willingness to break classic standards in the pursuit of excellence and new wine experiences. Corbeau innovate in wine production using cutting-edge techniques like thermo-maceration, also making unusual but very successful blends. This same energy creates a modern, potent approach to brand marketing, characterized by their core brand - Mad Bird and entry-level wines – Keep Calm.

Keep Calm seems a brand made for the moment – when we need an escape from life´s challenges with no fuss. Good quality red wines – Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and a Malbec & Cabernet blend, well-structured, balanced and attractively priced.

Mad Bird wines are special, premium wines, but still very fairly priced. They feature the black raven on the bottles, a symbol of wit, strength and freedom, also considered a magical and portentous animal. The reserva (barrel-aged) red wines are dark, complex and intriguing. Malbec has great quality, strength and spice, add Ancellotta and there is elegant balance, and the blends are really wonderful wines, perfectly balanced between oak and fruit, intense smooth and delicious, perfect for red meats, wood-oven pizzas, pasta and cheese dishes.

These bold brands will attract young adult consumers, curious to discover new terroir and innovative wine experiences. By providing excellent character, unique and innovative wines, and real value, these consumers are likely to repeat purchase for many years to come. Keep Calm wines are perfect for supermarket and liquor store retail. Mad Bird is more suited to medium and premium retail and HORECA distribution.

The winery has also made several labels for specific clients, they can make wines to order, making them one of the most exciting, dynamic and flexible wine companies to partner with.
