Trade Winds Agency · Engagement Structures

How we work together.

Four structures, one outcome — your brand selling in the markets that matter. Every structure gives you access to the same global network, the same agent relationships, and the same portfolio leverage from day one. The structure determines how we work, not whether we work.

Hello, World!

Structure 01

Commission Only — House Project

Zero fixed cost. Pure performance alignment.

A House Project is a curated export campaign built around a product category, origin and target market — a Spanish wine project, a LATAM spirits push, an English beer consolidation. Projects run on defined cycles with a sourcing agent, a promotional calendar and a container consolidation logic behind them. Your brand joins an active project where it fits — by category, origin and market. That fit drives real results: shared container economics, coordinated importer outreach and a campaign with momentum already behind it. We do not take on commission-only work outside of an active project unless the brand is genuinely exceptional and the fit is obvious. If there is a project for you, you will know it immediately..

What you pay
€0 upfront
Commission on confirmed invoice value only. Agreed at engagement.
Why you want it
You have a product that fits an active TWA project — by origin, category and target market. You want to move with a campaign that already has structure, agents and importer relationships behind it.
What it solves
The isolation problem. Independent producers trying to enter markets alone face full container minimums, cold importer relationships and no promotional leverage. A project solves all three.
How it activates
Your brand is mapped to the right active project. The sourcing agent confirms fit. You enter the campaign cycle — consolidation, outreach and promotional activity already in motion.
How it creates value
Shared container economics reduce your shipping cost. Portfolio grouping gives importers a reason to open the conversation. And a coordinated campaign creates pull that a single brand pitch never can.
Structure 02

Fractional Export — Retainer + Commission

Dedicated sessions. Structured programme. Lower commission rate.

For producers who need more than network access — they need someone actively working their export development on a defined, accountable schedule.

A named account lead is allocated to your brand. Sessions are booked in advance. Deliverables are agreed. You receive live pipeline reporting and a structured market plan from the first month.

The retainer reduces the commission rate — because the relationship is already working.

What you pay
€190 / session
4-hour sessions + 6% commission on confirmed invoice value.
Packages from 2 sessions per month.
Why you want it
You want a structured, accountable export programme — not just a network to sit inside.
What it solves
The gap between intent and pipeline. Export development without dedicated resource almost always stalls.
How it activates
90-day market plan agreed at onboarding. Sessions booked monthly. Named account lead. Full pipeline visibility throughout.
How it creates value
Fixed sessions mean committed time — not best-effort. Lower commission means you are not paying twice for the same relationship.
Structure 03

Principal + Agency —
Your Contracted Export Team

Senior principal leadership. A specialist agency behind them. A fraction of the cost of a traditional hire.

A traditional export hire gives you one person. One language. One time zone. No established importer relationships and a 2–3 year runway before the network is built. Meanwhile they need a significant travel budget, support staff as markets multiply, and they can only ever be in one place at once.

Principal + Agency works differently. A named TWA principal leads your export operation — owning the strategy, the client relationship and the commercial direction. Behind them, a fractional team of specialist agents is deployed across the markets that matter. The total hours are comparable to a traditional hire — the difference is how those hours are used: each agent brings native market knowledge, established buyer relationships and cultural fluency that a generalist hire simply cannot replicate.

Our database covers virtually every major trading territory. When a new market opens up, a starter retainer activates a local specialist immediately — motivated, briefed and already connected.

From
€6,000 / month
Principal-led. Agency-supported.
+ commission on confirmed invoice value.
Significantly less than a fully-loaded traditional hire.
Why you want it
You need serious, sustained export development across multiple markets — but a traditional hire concentrates all your resource in one person with one background. Principal + Agency distributes that resource intelligently, with specialists where the opportunity actually is.
What it solves
The generalist problem. A solo export manager stretched across Japan, Spain, Mexico and South Africa simultaneously is thin in every market. Native-market specialists with established buyer relationships are not.
How it activates
A named principal is assigned from day one. Market priorities agreed. Specialist agents briefed and activated across export development, monopoly applications, DTC, marketing strategy, activation management, budget planning, portfolio crossover and strategic business development.
How it creates value
A properly resourced in-house export function costs £100,000–150,000 in year one — salary, NI, pension, recruitment, bonus, travel and support staff. Principal + Agency delivers senior leadership and a multi-market specialist team at a fraction of that, with significantly lower travel overhead because the specialists are already on the ground.

Structure 04

Expert Consultancy — Project-Based Input

Specific expertise. When you need it. No ongoing commitment.

For producers who have a specific question, challenge or decision to work through — and need expert input without entering a long-term engagement.

Sessions are booked individually. The deliverable is agreed before the session begins.

Typical uses: export readiness audit, market entry strategy, distributor evaluation, pricing structure review, trade materials critique, or a commercial health check before a key meeting.

What you pay
€250 / session
4 hours. No commission. No retainer. No minimum commitment.
Why you want it
A specific decision requires expert input — but the timing or budget does not suit an ongoing engagement. You want answers, not a programme.
What it solves
Access to senior export expertise on a session basis, without minimum commitments. The output is practical and immediately applicable.
How it activates
Session booked, deliverable agreed, output delivered. Can be standalone or the starting point for a broader engagement.
How it creates value
Decisions made with experienced export intelligence behind them are better decisions. Around 120 years of combined network experience, available by the session.

Structure 05

Bespoke Programmes — Extended Capability

Custom scope. Senior delivery. Price on application.

Not every brief fits a structure. Some require a Commercial Director stepping into a business at senior level. Others need a full trade mission designed, staffed and executed across multiple markets. Others still need a DTC architecture built from scratch, a monopoly submission campaign run across six state systems, or an international marketing programme that takes a brand from unknown to listed.

TWA has the network, the experience and the specialist capability to design and deliver programmes that go well beyond standard export management. The scope, the team and the timeline are built around what the brief actually requires — not a pre-packaged tier.

If you have a brief that does not fit neatly into the structures above, the conversation starts with a call.
