Cantera Montes De Oca have established a very high-quality, multi-award-winning range of excellent wines. Julio Cantera and Fernanda Montes de Oca, agronomist, head up the family winery. José Lez, President of the Uruguayan Wine Association INAVI, serves as the oenologist. Quality, Enjoyment, and Sustainability are the three principles which guide their work.

This wonderful range of wine starts with the unoaked Terroir series: Albariño - maximum aromatic expression, unctuous and mineral. Viognier - great balance of acid and stone fruits. Rosado - salmon colour, red fruits, smooth and juicy. Arinarnoa - intense colour, powerful, quality and berry fruit. Corte Primero is 50% Tannat, 25% Marselan 25% Arinarnoa - excellent blend, intense plum and blueberry aromas, mature fruit, spicy notes, long and satisfying finish. Marselan - fantastic balance of tannins and acid, engrossing aromas and deep fruit flavour. Merlot - ruby and violet colour, perfect balance between mineral and acid. Petit Verdot - explosion of flavours - red fruits, mint, chocolate and spices. Tannat - excellentunoaked varietal, naturally intense red fruit, chocolate, blackcurrant and spice. For the oaked Alma Terroir series: Merlot - fantastic body, balance, heady aromas and potent fruit and sweet pepper notes. Petit Verdot - incredible fruit, chocolate, spice - balanced and profound. Tannat 2B - impressive density - heady mix of red and black fruits, chocolate and spice, a luxurious and satisfying finish. Tannat 17 - deep, profound, masterful varietal, incredible swirl of deep fruit flavours, a tour de force. Tannat 19 - harmonious and deeply satisfying, deep and intense dark fruit, spice and chocolate notes, finishing with aplomb. Tannat & Barbera - wonderful blend, deep, dark Tannat notes, softened by fresh red fruit, vanilla, and cherry notes. Deep wine, but well-balanced. Tagua is a Gran Corte wine, icon of the winery, aged for 24 months, a blend of the finest wine parcels - intense colour and aroma, vivacious and elegant, ephemeral and beautiful, incredible grace and sophistication
